The Prototype for Smell Testing Activity was developed as an exploratory tool to evaluate how specific scents can stimulate memory, emotion, and engagement in individuals with dementia. This prototype incorporates familiar and culturally relevant smells—such as herbs, fruits, and traditional ingredients—presented in an accessible, multisensory format that encourages active participation. Designed with safety, ease of use, and sensory clarity in mind, the prototype serves both as a therapeutic intervention and a method for observing olfactory responses.
